An 8-color printing system is created by adding four additional spot colors or light colors to the standard 4 colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) used in digital printing. These additional colors are generally light tones such as LC, LM, LY, LK, or spot colors such as Red, Blue, Green, Violet, Orange, and similar options. Thanks to these extra colors, more combinations can be achieved in printing, allowing for more detailed, vivid, and sharper results.
According to the International Color Consortium (ICC), an ICC profile is a dataset that characterizes a color input or output device. Profiles define the color attributes of a specific device by describing the mapping between the device source and a profile connection space. This ensures color consistency across different devices and enables predictable printing results.
